Artist’s Project: Fernando Bryce

In this series of 16 drawings, the Peruvian artist “re-presents” pages and covers of Américas magazine from the ’50s and ’60s.

Fernando Bryce’s work has been shown internationally, including at The Museum of Modern Art, Museum Hett Domein Sittard in the Netherlands, The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the 26th Biennial of Sao Paolo, and Taipei’s 2012 Biennial. Bryce recently had solo exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Bremen (2017), the Harvard Art Museums (2018), and inSite/Casa Gallina, Mexico City (2018–2019). Bryce, who was a student of Christian Boltanski at Paris’s École des Beaux-Arts in the late ’80s, currently divides his time between Lima and Berlin, where the Galerie Barbara Thumm represents him.
