Esopus 20: Special Collections Launches at Moma

The Museum of Modern Art Library and Archives will host an evening celebrating the partnership between the Museum and Esopus—and marking the launch of its 10th-anniversary issue, Esopus 20: Special Collections—on Tuesday, November 5th, from 6 to 8pm. Since its 7th issue, Esopus has partnered with the Museum of Modern Art Archives in presenting "Modern Artifacts," a series which offers facsimile reproductions of materials from the Archives, ranging from pages from the Museum's first guest book to documents related to a number of its groundbreaking exhibitions. The evening will include comments from Milan Hughston, MoMA's Chief of Library and Museum Archives, Rona Roob Senior Museum Archivist Michelle Elligott, and Esopus editor Tod Lippy, It will also feature a video presentation showcasing all 13 installments of the "Modern Artifacts" series, including the most recent—a selection of photographs by curator William C. Seitz related to the Museum's 1960 Monet exhibition—which appears in Esopus 20: Special Collections. The issue will be on newsstands later that week.

At the Museum of Modern Art, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, Mezzanine, 4 W. 54th Street, from 6 to 8PM, Tuesday, November 5th. Open to the public.
