In this fourth installment of “Guarded Opinions,” a regular series that features museum guards’ impressions of the art they oversee, New Museum guard La’Quasia Risper offers her take on an Urs Fischer sculpture.

Paul VanDeCarr is a writer, editor, and trainer for UN agencies and other leading NGOs. He received his M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School. He lives and works in New York City.

La’Quasia Risper is a native of Brooklyn and is Security Supervisor at Official A.S.M. Global. She has worked at New York City’s New Museum of Contemporary Art. An MC who performs under the name “Capital Q,” Risper’s inspirations include Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Da Brat, Total, Nas, and The Notorious B.I.G.
