Filmmaker (and Esopus subscriber) Jeff Malmberg first learned about Mark Hogancamp after picking up a copy of Esopus 5. Fascinated by the artist and his story, Malmberg resolved to create a documentary film about Hogancamp. Four years in the making, Marwencol—which won numerous awards and critical plaudits on the festival circuit—received a theatrical release in the fall of 2010.
