On Tuesday, October 17th, Groupe on New York's Lower East Side held an opening reception for "Clayton Patterson: Portraits from the Pyramid," an exhibition of digital C-prints featuring Patterson's brilliant photographs of the drag performers at NYC's legendary Pyramid Club in the mid-1980s.
The event was deejayed by Pyramid legend DJ Tennessee, and attendees included a broad cross-section of creators from the film, art, music, design, and fashion worlds. The exhibition, which runs through January 18, 2018, is copresented with A Number of Names and Esopus, which first exhibited Patterson's portraits in 2010 at Esopus Space, and which also included a large selection of the images in Esopus 24.
