On Sunday, October 9th, "Golden Years," an exhibition of rock-and-roll concert photos by Ed Rosenbaum at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, opened as a part of Pioneer Works’ “Second Sundays” program. The exhibition, on display in the acclaimed exhibition and performance space’s third-floor galleries, ran through November 13th.
“Golden Years” features 20 never-before-seen images of musical icons David Bowie, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Pretenders, Blondie, Peter Gabriel, and many others. These photographs were taken by Ed Rosenbaum at rock-and-roll concerts in the New York area in the late ’70s and early ’80s, and they are being shown for the first time in this exhibition.
The show directly relates to Golden Years: Photographs by Ed Rosenbaum, Esopus’s fall 2016 limited-edition artwork for Premium subscribers. The 56-page, foiled-stamped and clothbound 10"-x-15” book features all of the photographs presented in the Pioneer Works exhibition as well as 20 additional images by Rosenbaum of Patti Smith, Frank Zappa, Carlos Santana, and others.
On Sunday, November 13th, Esopus hosted a book-signing for the exhibition; Rosenbaum was in attendance for the event, which served as a closing reception for the well-reviewed exhibition. VIEW MORE PHOTOS
