On Monday, May 16th, and Wednesday, May 18th, Esopus and the Museum of the Moving Image copresented two nights of films by and about legendary screenwriter (and Esopus 23 contributor) Hampton Fancher. The events included rare screenings of the final cut of Blade Runner and Fancher’s 1999 directorial debut, The Minus Man, as well as a pre-release excerpt from Escapes, Michael Almereyda’s critically acclaimed 2017 documentary about Fancher. In attendance for both programs, Fancher offered fascinating (and entertaining) insight into his life and work during conversations with the Museum's Chief Curator, David Schwartz, and Esopus editor Tod Lippy.
