In an event hosted in collaboration with the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, Frederick Wiseman’s remarkable 1970 documentary Hospital was projected in its original 16-mm format in the Museum’s main theater. The event was introduced by Wiseman via Skype from Paris, where the acclaimed filmmaker was in post-production on his 2016 film Jackson Heights. One hundred frames from Hospital, which New Yorker critic Pauline Kael wrote “is as open and revealing as filmed experience has ever been,” appear in Esopus 22: Medicine.
