Mary Ellen Carroll’s work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum, the Museum for Volkerkunde in Munich, Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, the Renaissance Society in Chicago, and ICA Philadelphia, among other places. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Carroll received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2003 and a Rockefeller Foundation grant in 2004. Her work resides in a number of public and private collections around the world. In 2010, Carroll won a Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts Fellowship and the American Institute of Architects’ Artist of the Year Award. She lives and works in New York City.
